“This is one of the best regions in Australia for growing stone fruit”

Cooinda Proprietors is a family-owned agricultural business located on a picturesque stretch of the Murray River, 11km north of Swan Reach, South Australia. Our family have lived on the property since settlement in 1899, with the business now operated by fifth generation farmers Mark and Taryn Grieger and son Karl (sixth generation).

The property, affectionately known as “Cooinda”, is 624 hectares of fruit trees, cropping, grazing and native mallee. The orchard has over 2,300 stone fruit trees, 400 citrus trees and a developing niche range.

Our current and future fruit tree plantings ensure a wide variety of quality fresh and dried produce to choose from. As we grow, process and pack our fruit on site, we are able to control every step to ensure you get the best product time after time. Our dried fruit is primarily preserved with sulphur dioxide and sun dried, while a smaller range is prepared preservative free.

Given our close relationship with the land, environmentally friendly farming is of great importance. We use waterbird micro sprinklers to minimise water use without disrupting quality, minimal sprays and some biological controls to manage pests and disease and an organic based fertiliser helps keep the soil and trees healthy.

Our location on the cliffs of the Murray River is the ideal stone fruit growing area. Hot summer days followed by cool, evening southerly breezes provide optimal ripening conditions for sensational flavours. Call us today and experience the fruit you’ve been searching for.
